We promote leadership roles and being a KS1 Picture News Pioneer for their class enables children to pose questions and open a respectful discussion and debate about local and world news. As an inclusive school we use the class assembly time to reflect upon our own school culture and values as well as Fundamental British Values and Protected Characteristics. 

Our KS1 Picture News Pioneers meet in a team and with an adult to discuss the weekly content and plan the class assembly that each Picture News Pioneer will present to their class. Some examples of Picture News content can be found below.
