Briar Hill Infant School
Personal, Social, Health Education
As part of our PSHE curriculum we use the Jigsaw Scheme to equip our children with skills and techniques which will support them as they develop their emotional skills. The children learn about keeping safe and healthy, independence, how to work effectively and collaboratively as part of a team, positive friendships, belonging and families.
Alongside the Jigsaw Scheme we teach all children about Personal Safety (previously known as Protective Behaviours/Taking Care) to ensure that they understand how to keep themselves and their bodies safe. Character Education and Personal Development underpin our well-planned core and wider curriculum both within the school day and beyond.
Mabel, our Briar Hill well-being dog also supports children planned and impromptu sessions.
Our PSHE curriculum underpins all teaching and learning and supports our children to develop effective characteristics of learning, self care and the knowledge and skills to develop safe and positive relationships.
Please also read further information on our Personal Development and Wider Curriculum Page and our School Clubs page.
