Welcome to Blossom at Briar Hill

On behalf of the SEND and Blossom team, I would like to offer a very warm welcome to both you and your child. Blossom at Briar Hill is a local authority Communication and Interaction Specialist Resourced Provision for children in Reception to Year Two. 

Blossom at Briar Hill provides bespoke SEND support within our vision for all to:

 'Flourish and a family, love to learn, make memories, shine!' 

Blossom at Briar Hill provides tailored support for up to 6 children who have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), with their main area of need being Communication and Interaction, including children with Autistic Spectrum Conditions. Placements in Blossom are agreed by the Local Authority Provision Panel.

At Briar Hill we understand that each child's journey is distinctive, particularly for those with communication and interaction needs. Our experienced and compassionate staff work closely with each child to identify their challenges and strengths, developing targeted strategies that enable them to flourish. Through the use of specialist resources and bespoke teaching methods, we empower our learners to enhance their communication skills, build confidence, and foster positive social interactions. This targeted support not only aids in their academic achievements but also prepares them to navigate social environments more effectively.

Through a combination of targeted provision and intervention, enriching small steps learning activities, and a commitment to collaboration with families and external agencies, we are able to create an environment that nurtures individual strengths. Our goal is to ensure that every student not only meets their educational targets but also enjoys a well-rounded experience that fully embraces their unique abilities and aspirations.

Our approach is centred on understanding how each student learns best, allowing us to implement strategies that unlock their full potential. By understanding the unique strengths and needs of every child, we are able to develop a personalised curriculum for each student with learning experiences that foster engagement, achievement and a love of learning.

The children in Blossom at Briar Hill are fully supported and we actively promote opportunities for interaction between children and their peers, fostering an atmosphere of understanding and respect throughout the school community.
