'Spring 2 Learning for Reception'
Please enjoy sharing our Phonics PowerPoint with the children which teaches them the grapheme/s (letters) which represent the phoneme (sound) in phase 4 of Letters and Sounds phonics. We recently taught ear as in hear and air as in chair and we would have been teaching ure as in pure and/or sure and er as in butter. before Easter.
The PowerPoint includes lots of activities that might be fun to try to help your child with their reading and writing. We have also shared our Marvellous Maths PowerPoint which details our number learning (addition) for spring 2 with some ideas for a few fun practical counting and adding games.
Please see the sheet sent home with your child for log on details.

Learning in Reception at Briar Hill School
Welcome to Reception
On behalf of the Reception team we would like to offer a very warm welcome to both you and your child. This page will share information about the fantastic learning taking place throughout the year.
All of our learning areas provide active experiences giving the children the opportunity to explore through practical activities and learn through play.
Our curriculum is fun, stimulating and engaging and has carefully been designed to encourage all children to work hard and try their very best. Whether it's building a tower from Duplo, designing our own forms of transport, walking nicely around school or sharing our clever learning with our friends and with the adults; the children will be motivated to use all of their Building Learning Powers to make their Reception year memorable.
Check out the Gallery page and Video page on the website for more images of our clever learning!
During the year the children will be learning through a range of different topics. Lots of their learning will be hands on and fun! Each half term you will receive a letter explaining to you what the new topic will be about, this will also be on this page of the website.
