Welcome to Reception
On behalf of the Reception team we would like to offer a very warm welcome to both you and your child. This Reception page will provide information about some of the fantastic learning your child will experience throughout this year.
Our learning areas provide active experiences so that children can learn and explore through both adult supported and independent investigative play. Our systematic phonics, reading, writing and maths curriculum is taught through text and topic. We strive to stimulate enquiry and engage children interests and have carefully designed our provision to meet the needs of all children. Whether it's building a tower from Duplo, designing our own forms of transport, talking about and sharing our clever learning with our friends and class adults; the children will be motivated to use all of their Building Learning Powers to make their Reception year memorable.
Please also look at our 'Learning in Action' page on the federated tab for stories and videos of learning in Reception. Our 'Curriculum' tab will also provide an insight into learning at school under our vision to: 'Flourish and a family, love to learn, make memories, shine!'
Read Our Reception Curriculum document above, which sets out our learning/topic alongside the half termly knowledge organisers in the termly pages, which provide you and your child with some of the key vocabulary and concepts we will be teaching each half term.
If you have any other questions of queries please do contact us via our year group email:
