Physical Education (PE)
Mrs Harwood, supported by Mrs Cooper are our Physical Education Leads
PE develops pupil’s physical competence and confidence. It promotes physical skill, development and knowledge of the body and provides opportunities for pupils to be creative and to face challenges as individuals, in pairs and groups. It is also essential in promoting a positive attitude towards active and healthy lifestyles and we specifically aim to:
enable our pupils to understand the importance of physical activity.
enable our pupils to development appropriate skills and attitudes in physical activity.
provide and promote opportunities for our pupils to be physically active throughout the school day and beyond.
ensure our pupils are confident, safe and enjoy physical activity.
ensure our pupils develop a sense of fair play and sportsmanship.
motivate our pupils to retain a lifelong interest in PE and to recognise the importance of living and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
We also participate in regular physical movement breaks, including 'Daily Active' time to increase fitness and encourage a love of physical activity.
