Briar Hill Infant School
Information about Reception 2027-2028
Why choose Briar Hill Infant School for your child?
We have so many aspects of school life we promote and enable children to excel in, such as, but not exhaustively; prioritising the wellbeing of all children, excellent Reception provision and a swift entry into school routines, excellent development of behaviours for learning and independence, being fully inclusive and meeting the needs of all children including those with SEND, focus on superb science provision and enquiry, quality systematic teaching of phonics and reading, maths mastery approach to teaching and learning, providing an engaging and broad curriculum across all subjects to enable children to learn and remember more with above national outcomes as well as promoting and encouraging effective parental engagement.
We offer parents/carers the opportunity to see the school 'in action' and listen to a short presentation by Mrs Willis, our Headteacher at one of our 5 open mornings in the autumn term. Unfortunately we are unable to offer any other visits due to other in school events/commitments.
Each open morning session starts promptly at 9:15am in the Briar Hill school hall. Please note there is no parking for parents/visitors on the school site at any time, so do allow enough time for your journey, to park and then walk to the school which is at the back/left of the staff car park.
Our LIVE open mornings take place 9:15-10:30am for adults only. This is so we an accommodate all of the request we have for visits and so all visitors are able to listen to the information. We invite a maximum of 40 adults to each session and rotate two sessions within this time. 20 parents/carers listen to the talk in the hall and two groups of 10 parents/carers are provided with a guided walk around school, visiting classrooms and asking any questions as they tour the school 'in action'.
All places must be pre-booked and confirmed via our friendly admin team. We look forward to welcoming you into our school.
